Firehouse No. 1 Gastropub

Last week, I met with a friend for lunch at Firehouse No. 1. To be quite honest, Firehouse No. 1 doesn’t exactly pop-up in my mind when thinking of a place to eat downtown. I’m usually here right before Sharks games to meet up with friends for a quick drink before walking to the Shark Tank. They have some delicious wings that I highly reccommend if you aren’t looking to fill all the way up. Everything on the menu looks mouth-watering. When we were there for lunch last week, I wanted to try something new and decided to go with the open-faced fried chicken sandwhich.

Because of how tasty my meal was, I’ll make sure to consider eating at Firehouse No. 1 a lot more than I have in the past. Not only is the cook exceptional at what he does, the ambience of this gastropub is incredibly inviting. At one point I forgot that I was in downtown San Jose because the gastropub has a bit of a Boston/east coat-ish feeling. It’s relaxing, comfortable, and our waiter/bartender was a lot of fun to talk to. He said that the cook started out in the industry as a dishwasher in a restaurant at 16 years old. He developed into a skilled chef, and his creative dishes get people to keep coming back. To me, it’s almost like comfort food. The address to this hot spot is 69 N. San Pedro St. San Jose, CA. 95110.

Have you ever been to Firehouse No. 1 Gastropub? What’s your favorite thing to eat/drink there? Feel free to let us know, and we hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
